Meet our Staff

Coach Katie

Katie found a knack for the game in junior high and continued playing at the high school and collegiate levels (University of Mary).  Katie has over 20 years of coaching experience at all levels. Her coaching career started in Bismarck, then continued in Omaha, and she is currently coaching the middle school girls here in Mobridge.  Katie's favorite part of the game is DEFENSE!

Coach Tami

I grew up in the Mobridge area and graduated from Selby High School. I’ve always loved the game and started playing in 3 on 3 tourneys in 1st grade. I attended many camps over the years. My high school team made it to state my junior year where we were consolation champions and then went on to win the State Championship my senior year, going 25-0 on the season. I was named to All-Area and All- State teams both of those years. I was blessed to be asked to be on the cover of Hanson and Anderson’s magazine the summer after I graduated. I also was asked to play on the SD all-star team and that’s when I decided to give college ball a try. I attended Black Hills State University and played basketball for the Yellowjackets for a year. Though I loved the game, I missed ranching and knew I was supposed to be back on the ranch.

Coming back to be a rancher allowed me the opportunity to get back into basketball, this time as a coach.  I was the Selby Area JV/Assistant coach for 3 years. My last year, I was asked to fill in as the head varsity coach for a couple months. I was able to go through preseason with the team and coach them through their first 5 games of the season- they went 5-0!

Other basketball experiences include coaching many elementary teams in the Gettysburg Area where I now reside.

Coach Tina

Tina recently joined the Mobridge community.  Tina has had a love for playing basketball most of her life.  She played for Castlewood during her high school years and was on Castlewood's first basketball team to ever make it to State.  They won that year and Tina was one of the players selected to be on the All State Tournament team.  Following high school, Tina played college basketball for Bartlesville Wesleyan in Oklahoma.  Following college Tina has played on many city league coed and women's basketball teams.  If you find Tina on the courts in Mobridge, let her know you are up for a game of Around the World or HORSE as she would love to shoot around with you.  Tina's coaching experience includes Varsity Girls basketball at Castlewood, Middle School Boys basketball at Watertown Christian, and Middle School Girls basketball here in Mobridge.

Coach Tegan

Tegan's love for the game started when she was just 4 years old.  Ever since then she has loved to be a student of the game and continue to get better each year.  Tegan earned varsity minutes as a freshman this year for the Tigers, she will be playing summer basketball and working to improve in the off season.  Her favorite part of the game is defense and driving to the hoop!  She loves teaching ball handling too!

Coach Loryn

Hi everybody! I am originally from Timber Lake and graduated from Timber Lake High School. I started playing basketball competitively in the 3rd grade! In high school I was a 4 year starter, 1,000 point scorer as well as a 4x all district athlete. I was also named all-state my senior year! After high school I went to Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell SD and played a year. After that I took a year off and then decided to give it one more try! I then ended up at Dickinson State University, where I played ball and graduated with an elementary education degree!

As for coaching I was given the opportunity to coach a Sacred Hoops team the past two years and grew to love the game even more!

Coach Amanda

I just really love basketball - I have since grade school!  I worked hard and took the Lions to the top earning a state championship title my senior year.  I went on to make an impact for BHSU for their women's basketball program.  I encourage kids to play every chance they get.  Win or lose there is always a take away.  There are going to be heartbreaking losses but hopefully at the end of the day it was fun!
